To work, to pray, to play in the Light of the Lord

Stay and Play

We enjoy inviting our parents to come and join us in school whenever possible. This is a real privilege this year as we have not been able to do so due to Covid 19.  Please check this page after each stay and play session to browse through some of the wonderful activities set up in school.

ALL NURSERY AND RECEPTION PARENTS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US FOR EACH STAY AND PLAY SESSION. Many thanks.

Tuesday 4th October Forest Week

Our first stay and play was a great success. The children and parents thoroughly enjoyed coming into school to spend some time inside the building with us and engage in some activities.

As it was Forest week here at Holy Family, it was decided to  theme our first session around this. The children engaged in the activities and were thrilled to see their parents.

The activities included:

Toasting marshmallows on our wooden fire (indoor due to the torrential weather) and blowing them 10 times before they could be eaten. We know we have to do this as they are super hot when they have been near to a fire flame.

Whilst toasting our marshmallows, we enjoyed sharing the story of The Gruffalo. We have themed the majority of our week around this story and the children have been so excited each day to hear the plan for the day.

There was an opportunity to do some tree bark rubbings and to decorate and describe your own Gruffalo. Our skills really impressed the adults in school.

A huge thank you to all of those that could join us for this session. It means so much to us and to your wonderful children. We hope you can join us again for our Christmas themed session.
