Home Learning Week 3 and Into Holidays

Hi Everyone. Hopefully by now you will have received an email from me checking in that you are all well. We are loving seeing lots of you on Tapestry....seeing your little faces makes us smile!

This Week is Holy Week - a very special week in our Church. I f we were in school, we would have been doing some lovely activities teaching the children about the story of what happened to our friend Jesus during that week.

I've added some lovely Easter activities if you would like to do them. There is a nice story of Easter that you could look at and talk through with your little ones.....they know that Jesus is our friend and that he died on the cross and everyone was sad. I wonder if they can talk about the pictures on the story?

There is also a blank cross outline. Tomorrow is Good Friday - the day that Jesus died on the cross. I wonder if your child can decorate a nice cross for Jesus?

Finally, please try to enjoy some rest time over the holidays. We will pick up again on 20th April with more ideas on the website and more messages on Tapestry and email. Happy Easter!

Home Learning Week 2

Hello Everyone! Hope this finds you all well and happy.

We are missing you all, especially your smiley faces and our daily dough disco dancing!!

I thought it might be nice at this time (because it is difficult for you to understand what is happening in the world) to learn a little bit about people that help us, such as Police Officers, Nurses, Doctors and Firefighters.

I have found some nice ideas of videos and worksheets that you could look at and have a chat with your Mummies and Daddies about the lovely jobs that people do to help us........

If you have a printer at home you can print some of the colouring sheets and if you don't then how about you try to draw a picture of your favourite one?

REMEMBER.....Show us all the lovely things you have done by uploading some pictures on your Tapestry page!!

For further ideas for Maths..... Try the White Rose Hubs - They have weekly activities with videos for the children to watch and activities to follow.... they have been getting some amazing feedback on instagram!!

If you, like some, are also working with older children at home, and want some worksheet based activities to print while the older ones are doing their learning, try these below. Pencil control sheets are important for children to prepare for letter and number formation. There are also a few activities based on the Traditional Tales that we have been reading in Nursery.....

And of course.... don't forget our lovely Spread the Happiness list of 100 things to do indoors! See how many of them you can tick off.....and remember to show us what you are up to on Tapestry!!!

We are thinking of you all every day.....and can't wait to get back to school for lots of happiness spreading!!

Take care of yourself and each other....

Love from All the Early Years Staff. xxxxxx

Ideas of things to do with your children to support their learning.

Wow! We have had an amazing first half term in  Nursery!! The children have settled so well and we have been able to do lots of lovely activities. We have even been on our first school trip to Middleton Park during Forest Week!

Spring Term 2020

We have been very busy in Nursery welcoming some new friends! We had 4 new starters so far with a few more to come later in the term....

Nursery have been doing a very good job of helping our new friends to settle in.....showing them the routines and helping them join in our lovely play.....

Parent Partnership

We look forward to building on our parent partnerships this term starting with our first stay and play on January 22nd......

We value the link between school and home and look forward to making more opportunities for this over the coming months.....

Communication Friendly Nursery....

We are currently undergoing some training in Early Years that will hopefully see us gaining the Communication Friendly Status for our setting. This means we are recognised as working hard to improve communication outcomes for our children...

We are enjoying lots of opportunities to develop our communication and language in Nursery. We love to tell our own stories and to enjoy lots of singing and rhymes and stories.
