To work, to pray, to play in the Light of the Lord
Holy Family School Sports Clubs
At Holy Family we run a wide variety of sports clubs both during lunch time and after school. Clubs on offer will vary depending on the time of year and they will be run alongside competitions run by local high schools as well as with other primary schools in our area.
At the beginning of each term, letters for each club are usually sent out and parents have a set period of time to apply for places, we endeavour to give every child a place in one club or more than one if it is possible, however on the rare occasion you child is unsuccessful, they will be placed on a reserve list and guaranteed a place in the next block of clubs.
Please see below the club timetable for this half term.
· High 5 Netball with Mrs Williams & Miss Walsh
Using the ‘Hi-5’ England Netball rules, Mrs Williams and Miss Walsh run a highly skilled netball session with plenty of games and opportunities for all of key stage to mix with each other. They will use their expertise to help our team improve their throwing and catching skills as well as how to perform as a team during competitive matches.

This club is run during the months of September to March (Autumn to Winter months!) and we partake in five cross country races against other schools in Leeds as well as, hopefully, qualify for the West Yorkshire school Games races in March / April. Last year (2015) we had a very successful school games with Logan (Yr3) coming 24th overall and Kacey (Yr4) coming 1st place overall! Update Spring 2 - Both Kacey and Logan have qualified for the WYSG 2016 again! We have had an amazing response to this club with many children turning up to training. The races take place on (usually cold and wet!) Saturday mornings showing real commitment. We aim to improve the children’s running style.

Mr Strong runs a very physical and muddy training rugby session and expects the children to work as a team. We have great equipment and players can often be found tackling, running drills and training in a similar way to Leeds Rhinos!
NEW! Spring 2 update! In addition to this, we have Richard Cattley, from Leeds Rhinos, running a girls only lunchtime rugby club and an after school KS2 rugby club, with help from Mr Pinna.
