Year 1 had a great time settling back into school after the Easter break.  We spent a lot of time exploring place value by using things such as Numicon and Base Ten to help us.

We're Back!

We have had lots of fun this week by making yummy pizza toast.  We then wrote some instructions of how to make it using time conjunctions and verbs.

We had lots of fun making our wrapping paper this week.   Paperchase isn't a patch on us!

Year 1 spent the week exploring and sorting 2D and 3D shapes!  We made shape monsters and looked at which 3D shapes roll and which do not.

This week in Year 1 we started looking at making our own Christmas Wrapping paper.  Mrs Walsh noticed a gap in the market! We looked at some of the different types you can buy already and spoke about what we liked and disliked about them.

We all enjoyed our half term rest and came back full of energy ready to learn about number bonds to 10!

This week saw us trying some 3D Junk Modelling!  We had to carefully think about what we wanted to create and join the 'junk' together using tape.

Year 1 loved visiting This Green Moon to spend some time in the woods for Forest Week!

Move over Joe Wicks!  This week we made some healthy Overnight Oats.  We planned out what we needed and what toppings we would like.  

This week we also looked at adjectives and how they can make our writing more interesting.

This week we learnt about choices and how Eve made a bad choice when she was tempted to eat the apple.  To help us explore the story we tried lots of different activities.

We spent some time this week looking at how we can represent different numbers using lots of different toys and equipment.

We have had a super first week back and spent lots of time playing.  In Maths we have been looking at sorting objects by colour, shape and size which has been very interesting.
