It's such sad news that we are now working at home again for the next week but I am looking forward to still seeing you on zoom and then back in class on Monday 10th May.

Below you will find information about the work I would like you to complete at home and a copy of any power points/resources that you may need to support your learning!

You can email me any pictures of what you get up or if you have any questions to ask - kvickers@holyfamilyleeds.co.uk

9.30am - In English today I would like you to have a go at writing a non-chronological report on a topic of your choice (choose something you are very familiar with. Maybe your favourite animal or sport. Or a country you know a lot about). This will be a little practise for you  before we write one next week in school linked to Anglo-Saxon weapons. There are lots of reminders about what you need to include on the power point.

11am - In maths today we will be learning how to add and subtract fractions. The children will then have a go at some of these independently.

1pm - Today in RE we will be listening to a story about when Jesus appeared to some of his disciples on the road to Emmaus. We will then think about what we can learn from this experience. The children will then have some questions to answer about this and a task.

Y3 Home Learning

Welcome to Year 3's home learning page.

I am so sad that we can't all be in the classroom together at the moment but I'm excited that I get to see you all on zoom every day :)

Hopefully it won't be long until we can all be together in the classroom again!

The zoom code for all our online learning sessions has been sent out in an email to all parents. If you haven't received this please send me an email and let me know :)

kvickers@holyfamilyleeds.co.uk

Below I have attached a copy of our timetable for sessions. This will be the same each week (if any changes need to be made to specific weeks I will let you all know).

Monday we will begin slightly early at 9am as we now have the lovely Miss Lee joining us to host a music session like we would normally have in school! I'm sure you will all really enjoy this :) We will stay on afterwards for a very short  input and to set the children a task.

All power points that we share on zoom and any resources/worksheets that the children may need to complete the work for the week are attached below.

Wed - Today there will just be one zoom at 9am. I would like the children to think about what they have been doing over the Christmas holidays and write a recount. They must make sure they include

  • Capital letters and full stops
  • Their neatest handwriting (cursive)
  • Expanded noun phrases.

Thurs - Today we will have a zoom at 9.10 for English and a zoom at 11am for Maths.

In English today we are going to be using the front cover of our new class text to recap expanded noun phrases.

In maths we are going to be looking at using arrays to represent multiplication and division number sentences.

Fri - Today we will have a zoom at 9.10 for English and a zoom at 11am for Maths.

In English today we are going to be learning about prepositions and like yesterday we will be using the front cover of our new book to write sentences that include prepositions.

In maths we are going to learn how to use the column method to complete multiplication number sentences.
